Nor'Easter Pro-Team Athlete Profile

Michelle Aitken

Pro-Team Athlete

Residence: Middleton, MA

About:

Michelle discovered OCR in 2014 when she found a deal for the Super Hero Scramble.  She was instantly hooked and immediately signed up for a Spartan Sprint that was two months away.  At that time she couldn't do a single pull up, complete the monkey bars or climb a rope.  She loved the competitive aspect to these races and wanted to prove to herself that she could do better and better each time.

Michelle is a mother of two, but does not let that become and excuse not to train.  She gets up before they are awake to get in a morning run or take them to Crossfit with her.  Michelle says, "It's tough at times, but its well worth it when I'm a sweaty mess post workout and my 3 year old daughter brings me my water and says, " "I'm so proud of you, Mommy" ".  Michelle says that her husband is her #1 fan, but still has not been able to get him to race yet.

In the working world, Michelle is a Cat Scan Tech at a local hospital.  Michelle says, "I love what I do, its challenging and rewarding all at the same time."

The two things Michelle looks forward to most in OCR is getting on the Spartan Race podium and racing with her children.

Fun Fact: Michelle describes herself as a nerd and says she went to band camp for three summers in a row. And yes, she played the flute.
